Netgear AC1200 Setup

How Do I Setup Netgear ac1200 router

You bought a Netgear AC1200 router to make your home or office wireless network bigger, but you don’t know how to set it up? When you get a new router, you first have to install it and then set it up. This blog shows you how to quickly and easily set up a Netgear AC1200 Setup.

Installing the Netgear AC1200 Router

Before setting up your Netgear AC1200 router, make sure that you can connect to the Internet and that it works perfectly. There are five main parts to the installation process:

Get ready to use your modem

Unplug the wire that gives your modem power.

Only take out the batteries if the modem doesn’t have a backup battery.

But if your modem was already connected to another router, quickly disconnect the cable between your modem and router.

Ensure the modem is turned off and only connected to the wall jack when using the Internet.

Hook up your modem to the Netgear ac1200 router

First, make sure that your modem is getting power.

Then, turn your modem on.

Note: Since the batteries were already taken out in the first step, you should try to put them back in.

The router comes with a yellow ethernet cable in the box it comes in. Connect your modem to the Internet port on your router using that ethernet cable.

Give the Netgear ac1200 router power

You can now connect the power adapter to the router that came in the box. Then, plug the adapter into a power source or outlet.

Wait until the WiFi LED on the front of the router lights up.

If you don’t see an LED light, press the button on the back of the Netgear router that says “Power On/Off.”

Hook up the computer to the router

When you setup Netgear ac1200 router, the next step is to connect it to your computer. You can use the provided Ethernet cable or connect your computer or mobile device wirelessly.

For a wired connection, you must connect your computer to the black Ethernet LAN port on your router using an Ethernet cable, which is not included in the box.

Use the wireless security settings on the label on the bottom of your Netgear router when you set up a wireless connection.

Open any browser you have installed.

  • Lastly, the genie screen is shown when you connect to the router for the first time. Also, keep going through the steps the genie gives you to connect to the Internet.
  • If you don’t see the Genie screen, close and reopen the browser.
  • The next step is to type www:/routerlogin.net into the browser’s address bar.
  • A sign-in screen shows up.
  • Enter the login information, which includes the default username and password.

How to Fix NETGEAR Genie Not Showing

  • Next, ensure the router has full power, and the WiFi LED is solid blue.
  • Most browsers save cache files, so you have to reload the browser screen to see them again. So, ensure the last page hasn’t been saved in the browser’s cache.
  • Then, close the browser and open it again.
  • Then type in www:/routerlogin.net, which is the default address for the admin panel.
  • If your computer is set to a static or fixed IP address, which is not very common, change the setting to get an IP address automatically.
  • From the switch.

Setting up the Netgear AC1200 Router: Configuration:

After installing this Netgear AC1200 router, you can set the Netgear ac1200 wifi router setup. The back of the box or the bottom of the router has the device’s unique WiFi network name (SSID) and network password (key).

The default SSID and password are different for each device to protect your wireless network and make it as safe as possible. Since SSID and password are defaulted, you can change them anytime in Network Settings.

Note: You can write down these wireless settings so you can find them easily in the future.

If you want to change your wireless password or get it back:

Use a web browser to go to www.routerlogin.net.

Use the default user name (admin) and password (password) to log in to the web interface (password).

Under “Wireless Settings,” you’ll find the information you need to log in.
